The Swear

Most of the nigerian prostitutes in Europe travel via a little village in Nigeria where they makes a voodoo pact. The village survive with the money of the prostitution. The Naptip, the police dept specialized in human traffic said that most of the new house in the village is built with the money of that traffic. When i came in the village it was very strange to me. The situation was awfull, it was rainning for 3 days, the road was broken and they was some tense between two etnies. Nobody wanted to talk to me about the djuju ( the voodoo pact) but all want to show me the dvd player they bought with the money they received from the daughter who work in Italy or France… After few days a taxi driver told me that he could help me to meet a voodoo man. It was true, and then i saw the 4 days of the ceremony in a  Shrine in the countryside.

New York. Does New York is a Myth?

When i think about New York, few names comes to me: Manhattan, Big Apple, Scorcese, De Niro, Woody Allen, The Brooklyn Bridge, Marathon Man, Paul Auster, James Dean on Time Square, Spiderman, The Chrysler Building, The Empire State Building, Ellis Island, The Liberty Statue, Harlem, The Blue Note, The Apollo Theater, Broadway, Chinatown, The Lower East Side, The Big Onion, The city that does not sleep. I must forget a lot of words for sure but they mean something for me.

Does New York is a Myth for You?

3 days after the Chernobyl Disaster the population of Pripyat the nearest city of the power plant station is evacuated. Most of the people have cancer a lot of them died, some of them lives now around kiev. For all of them Pripyat was a city of happiness that was a tragedy to leave.

Nigeria was the first country in Africa to provides free medical care to people who have HIV. The country also communicate in the streets for condoms. Nigeria have a big  evangelists christians community and for them is not good to use condoms. At the end of 2007, there were an estimated 2,600,000 people infected with HIV.

Elle est revenue riche 10 ans après. Elle s’était prostitué en Europe. En rentrant elle crée un reseau et commence à envoyer les filles du village en Italie, en Espagne ou en France. Elles partent volontairement ou sous la pression de leurs familles qui voient la dedans un moyen de subsistance. Le sujet n’est pas tabou, les familles posent facilement avec la photo du membre qui se prostitue en Europe et qui envoie de l’argent pour la construction de la maison chaque mois. Ce qui est tabou en revanche c’est que les reseaux font faire aux filles un pacte vaudou avec la complicité de pretres qui prelevent leurs dimes au passage. Ce pacte dure de 3 jours à Une semaine. A la fin du pacte la fille promet de rembourser les 50000 euros “du passage” et de ne jamais parler du Pacte. Après le Pacte, les filles partent souvent par leurs propres moyens vers l’Europe.là bas elles retrouvent le reseau qui les mettront sur nos trotoirs.

Tout le monde en parlait en France mais qui le connaissait réellement? Sur place l’ambiance était morose mais tout le monde avait le nez dans ses dossiers. La redaction fonctionnait comme d’habitude et préparait une edition speciale sur Anna. J’appris que ce n’était pas le premier assassinat de journalistes de Novaia Gazeta mais le troisieme mort du journal, et que tous reçoivent régulièrement des menaces de mort. Malgré tout chacuns essayent de travailler aussi librement qu’ils le peuvent dans la Russie de Vladimir Poutine.

25000 sans abris. Le centre ville de l’Aquila est detruit, le village d’Onna est rayé de la carte, les réfugiés affluent dans les campements de fortune, d’autres campent où ils peuvent.
